New Executive Director for Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA)

Adam_LovellWSAA Chair Kevin Young announced today that Adam Lovell has been appointed as the new Executive Director of WSAA.

Lovell has been acting in the position of Executive Director since March 2011 and was previously the WSAA Manager, Science and Sustainability and before that with Sydney Water for 11 years.

The Water Services Association (WSAA) is the peak body of the Australian urban water industry. The Association’s members provide water and sewerage services to over 16 million homes and to many industrial and commercial enterprises. WSAA was formed in 1995 and provides a forum for debate on issues important to the urban water industry.


“The Board of WSAA congratulate Adam and are delighted to welcome him to his new role,” says Kevin Young.

“He was an outstanding candidate who brings not only a breadth of technical skills to the position but is also a natural communicator. During his time in the acting role Adam has demonstrated that he can work well with both internal and external stakeholders, and will lead the Association confidently in the future.”

Says Lovell

“I am delighted to be offered this role. I strongly believe in the objectives of the Association and the work of its members. The urban water industry is positioning itself for the future and as we embrace the opportunities and challenges ahead. I feel privileged to be a part of it.”

Lovell continued,

“I would also like to acknowledge the achievements of outgoing Executive Director, Ross Young, and the work he has done for WSAA in the 7 years he was in this role.”

Mr Lovell takes up the position immediately.
