Funding Round 4 – October 2011 The social, environmental and economic value of water recycling is likely to be significant and is not yet fully understood or exploited; demonstrating and enhancing these values is an important goal for the Centre. The Centre is calling for Expressions of Interest (EoI) for applied and strategic research projects that quantitatively demonstrate and/or enhance the social, economic and/or environmental value of water recycling in Australia. This is the second call for proposals to deliver on the Centre’s Goal 1. The Centre has a strong interest in supporting projects that will benefit rural and regional Australia and encourages submissions addressing issues in these areas, as well as metropolitan centres. It is the Centre’s intention to shortlist applicants from the EoI submissions and those that best meet the selection criteria will be invited to submit a full proposal. If you are interested in submitting an Expression of Interest, please download the EoI Form and the Detailed Technical Scope for Goal 1. The Centre’s Strategic Research Plan should be read in conjunction with the EoI documents. The Centre will hold an information session in Adelaide on Monday 31 October to provide an overview of the Centre and its Strategic Research Plan, and to respond to queries regarding this call for proposals. For parties interested in understanding more and registering their interest in attending the workshop and/ or submitting an EoI, please contact Sarah Haydon, Manager Research and Commercialisation, by email or on (07) 3015 9708. Communicating Water Science & Technology Course – 12-14 March 2012 Griffith University, Nathan Campus (Brisbane) The Smart Water Research Centre course is designed to inform educators, communicators and community consultants about water science and also to assist those who already have knowledge of water science, to present it to lay people in a way that captures their attention and is easily understood. It will help those with a responsibility to interact with and guide the community, at all levels, to provide information simple enough to understand, yet technical enough to trust.
