Centre seeks new partners

The Australian Water Recycling Centre of Excellence is seeking nominations from parties interested in joining the Centre.

Interest is sought from organisations with expertise and experience in the water recycling delivery chain, which will complement the national focus of the Centre and augment the skills and experience of the existing representatives.

The Centre currently has eight partners – four industry and four research organisations – with capacity to have up to twelve. The Centre is particularly interested in hearing from organisations with skills in the political, social, media or economic arenas, as well as organisations with strong industry networks and advocacy/ policy skills.

Parties joining the Centre will be asked to nominate their preferred representative to serve on the Centre’s Research Advisory Committee.

The Research Advisory Committee members develop and review the strategic research direction of the Centre, scope and review the calls for proposals, and evaluate and recommend projects to the Board.  Since its inception in 2010, the Research Advisory Committee has guided initial funding calls expected to ultimately result in R&D projects worth more than $30 million in cash and in-kind.  The Research Advisory Committee currently comprises nominees from the partners as well as two independent representatives, including an independent Chair.

Interested parties are requested to write to the CEO and nominate their interest in joining the Centre of Excellence, identify their preferred representative to serve on the Research Advisory Committee, and outline the particular strengths the organisation and their representative would bring to the Centre and its activities.

Centre management and the Research Advisory Committee will consider all nominations received by the end of November, and make recommendations to the Centre Board shortly thereafter.

Parties who are invited to join the Centre and the Research Advisory Committee will be required to sign a Centre Agreement (including Research Advisory Committee Charter) and contribute a joining fee to the Centre.

For further information on the Centre, please contact CEO Dr Mark O’Donohue via email or by mail to Level 2, 95 North Quay, Brisbane QLD 4000.
