Funding Round 1 – August 2010

The Centre of Excellence awarded $200 000 in funding to the development of a Roadmap for National Validation Framework for water recycling in March 2011.

The framework will provide a consistent and efficient approach to validation, which does not compromise the safety of the water recycling process.

Led by Water Quality Research Australia, the project team is working with industry, regulators and researchers to finalise the Roadmap. The Roadmap will identify priority investments required to fill gaps in knowledge about validation, set out mechanisms for industry, regulators and researchers to jointly deliver a framework, and identify any additional resources required.

Once the roadmap is accepted, the Centre will allocate up to $3 million in further funding for establishment of the National Validation Framework. Further announcements will be made by early 2012.

In addition to funding from the Centre of Excellence and Water Quality Research Australia, the project received financial support from Dow Chemical and the Water Services Association of Australia.
